Quarterheart
This is my upcoming Steam Next Fest demo. Quarterheart runs in the fest October 19–26.
Quarterheart is a cozy arcade roguelite. There's an old machine in an attic, and it still works: put a coin in, fight the little monsters on its screen, and every monster you beat for the first time prints a sticker for the cabinet.
Runs are 2–4 minutes, win or lose. Mouse only — aim at things that won't hold still, click on timing rings, parry when something winds up. One of three upgrades after every fight. Stickers are permanent unlocks and survive every death, so dying is mostly fine.
The demo is levels 1–2 of 6, with 5 of the 8 monster colours. A first tour is 20–30 minutes, progress saves, and you can keep playing after.
If you play it, tell me anything in the comments — which monster annoyed you, what you picked first, where you stopped. That's the point of putting it up before the fest.

So my first run I made it to 80% on the triangles fight, then I couldn't get back there until eight more tries. I guess it was just a lucky first run? Awesome game, though. Interesting concept I have yet to come across.
Thanks, yeah, some luck is involved. It usually gets more stable with further upgrades :)
